Voltage. Vicious Circuit
“Voltage. Vicious Circuit,” deals with something I would call an affective electricity of the war machine. I treat the war mechanics here as an upright representative of the accelerationism movement in its darkest. The project started as a response to the Russian aggression against Ukraine in the darkness of 2022 with the particle simulation whirlwind I made in Unreal Engine. Yet, it reflects war in a broader sense, as a phenomenon with varied existential, political, and ecological implications, including questions of what war might mean beyond a specifically human framework.
The only sound source for this project comes out as noise that appears between disconnected or partly unplugged wires. It is the dark precursor to my adventurous Desert Island, and the usher into the underworld and the wilderness of the upcoming Eremos.
"What can we do when war overshadows the social imagination? The only thing we can do is to desert."
Franco "Bifo" Berardi
As Sufah, a horrifying hurricane that sweeps each thing away, yet operating at another level, rendered as a mysterium tremendum, it becomes a chariot which may convey one, as it is believed, into the beyond.
The tension, however, remains..
